Advanced Agile coaching requires more than good facilitation
Experienced Agile coaches often reach a ceiling: they can facilitate, advise and teach, but complex team systems require deeper presence, stronger contracting, cleaner stance choice and the ability to coach the team as a system.
Agile coaches constantly move between coaching, facilitation, mentoring, teaching and consulting, yet many lack a clean way to hold those stances ethically and intentionally.
Team coaching sessions can easily become workshops, problem-solving meetings or advice sessions when the coach does not contract clearly with the team and the wider system.
High-performing teams require coaches who can work with tension, conflict, maturity, values, systemic needs and the team’s ownership of the conversation.
The ACTC path requires evidence of real competence, not just attendance. Coaches need supervision, feedback and deliberate practice to demonstrate mastery.
Why The Agile Company’s AATC program is different
This program is built for experienced practitioners who want to grow, not simply collect another certificate. It combines ICF Team Coaching competencies, Agile coaching stances, Forward Focused practice, supervision and vertical development into one integrated mastery pathway.
Mastery before certification
The program treats certification as the evidence of development, not the destination. The work is focused on depth, flexibility, presence and competence across real team coaching situations.
Integrated Agile and professional coaching
You work on ICF Team Coaching competencies while staying grounded in the realities of Agile teams, frameworks, facilitation, mentoring, teaching and stakeholder work.
Evidence-based growth
You practice, receive feedback, prepare demonstrations of competence and use supervision to identify what needs to mature in your own coaching practice.
Self-leadership and vertical development
The program includes a self-leadership development path to help you move from maturity to mastery in the way you see, hold and respond to team systems.
Mentored peer cohort
Your cohort and peer groups become a learning system: practice, reflection, feedback, assignments and accountability continue between the live calls.
What you will be able to do after the program
AATC is designed to create observable growth in the way you design, hold, facilitate and evaluate team coaching work in Agile contexts.
Apply ICF Team Coaching Core Competencies in Agile team coaching sessions, facilitation, mentoring and teaching contexts.
Design team coaching sessions by contracting desired outcomes, selecting appropriate interventions and adapting to what the team needs in the moment.
Coach a team as a complex system while remaining present to team dynamics, maturity, values, tensions and the wider organizational context.
Move in and out of coaching, facilitation, mentoring, teaching and consulting stances with more clarity, ethics and intentionality.
Create stronger facilitation and learning designs that help teams grow toward maturity, self-organization and high performance.
Use supervision and feedback to identify blind spots, growth edges and evidence of competency for the ACTC path.
Develop self-leadership, presence and neutrality in situations involving conflict, ambiguity, pressure or strong stakeholder expectations.
A serious commitment to Agile Team Coaching mastery
This is not a short certification class. AATC is a cohort-based growth journey combining live learning, peer work, supervision, practice and evidence-building over several months.
